2026 Scholarship Applications Now Open

Applications for the 2026 scholarship cycle are now open. The Selection Committee looks forward to reviewing applications from students who demonstrate academic excellence, innovative thinking, and a strong commitment to positive change.
We have made several process updates this year to improve clarity and reduce confusion during submission. Please read the updates below carefully before you apply.
Key Dates for This Cycle
- Application Open: February 14, 2026
- Application Deadline: April 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (your local timezone)
- Notification of Missing Documents: Mid-April 2026
- Decision Release: Late May 2026
What's New This Year
- One deadline for all applicants: We now use a single application deadline (April 1, 2026) for this cycle.
- Interview program paused: Interviews are paused for this cycle and are not required.
- Updated personal essay format: The personal essay is now up to 650 words, and applicants should indicate which prompt they are answering.
- High school short answers updated: High school applicants now complete two Lu Scholar Questions (250 words or fewer each).
- High school recommendation guidance clarified: At least one teacher recommendation is required (up to two teacher recommendations), and one optional additional recommendation may be submitted.
- Transcript review flexibility: Official transcripts are still expected when available, and unofficial copies are accepted for initial review.
