About the foundation
One scholarship, for students whose education is held up mainly by money.
The award is $5,000. High school, undergraduate and graduate students may apply, from any country. Citizenship and immigration status are not part of the decision.
We are not looking for the strongest record in the pile. Your transcript and your recommendation tell us whether you are ready to finish what you are starting. After that, what weighs most is what $5,000 would change for you. How we read an application sets this out in full.
Reading is not the last step. We select finalists from the applications we read, ask each finalist for one document confirming their costs, and interview them. Finalists are interviewed, and the interview is part of deciding who receives the award.
Tingyu Lu was born in 2006 and died in 2025, at nineteen. He studied at Peking University. He paid attention to the people around him.
His friends started this foundation in his name. It gives one scholarship, to students whose education is held up mainly by money. That is the whole of it.
Goal Get It!
The Lu Memorial Foundation serves as an educational outreach office for the accessible educational programs and scholarships of Goal Get It!
Goal Get It! supports students in three areas: academic work, student well-being, and resources such as learning materials, activities and guidance on research.
The two divide the work between them. The foundation provides the mission, the money and the long-term care of the scholarship. Goal Get It! runs the portal and applicant support, collects the materials you send, coordinates the review and posts decisions.
You apply in the Goal Get It! portal, and the Lu Scholar Selection Committee decides.
Applying
There is one scholarship and three ways into it: high school, undergraduate and graduate. We fund five students from each application form per round. The scholarship sets out which of the two application forms you use, and how to apply has the requirements in one place.
